Pygora does have guard hair and needs to be dehaired before spinning. For this reason, we mostly sell dehaired fiber. Occasionally we will offer raw fleeces that will need to be washed and dehaired. We send out the raw fleece to the processor to be washed and dehaired. The fiber returns from the processor in a cloud form that is ready to spin into yarn. What is a Cloud? Cloud form is random fiber orientation loose and fluffy ready to be spun. What about color? We mostly sell natural colored fibers (white, grey, black, caramel). If you would like to add some color, Pygora fiber takes color well—even with kool aid dye. What about type? For more information on Type A, B or C check here. Why Pygora? Spins easily. Dyes beautifully. Halos nicely. Pygora is incredibly soft and makes lovely garments. |
